The Chamber of Commerce and You!
The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is a long-standing nonprofit organization that prospers as the business community prospers. Its' main function is to cultivate a spirit of fellowship and cooperation among the members enabling them to realize individual goals which can only be accomplished through collective effort.

The Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to improving and promoting the business community. We have developed new and innovative programs for the membership to help them grow and develop their business. We offer several cost saving ways of doing business, ways to market business and ways to network among peers.

Office Location

Garden City Chamber of Commerce is easily located on Ford Road, between Middlebelt and Merriman Road.  The office is situated in the Sheridan Square strip mall on the North side of the road, on the second floor in Suite D.  The address is 30120 Ford Road, Suite D, Garden City,  Michigan 48135.  The Chamber office hours are: Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.

1. How big is the Chamber?
Currently we have 200 members, 2 staff people, many committees and task forces and numerous volunteers.

2. Who runs it?
A Board of Directors consisting of business men and woman, each serve a three year term, representing all segments of the economy. A list of the Directors can be found in the Chamber Newsletter.

3. What's the best way to get the most out of chamber membership?
A question frequently asked. Our most satisfied customers are those who attend meetings and participate in activities. Business is a contact sport, and the Chamber is the perfect place to make contacts with potential new customers for you or your profession.

4. If I am busy, are my employees eligible attend chamber functions?
Yes, all of them are welcome to attend, either in your place or with you. In fact, many of our seminars and workshops are aimed at employees, so watch for flyers announcing a program or seminar that might be of more interest to someone in your company than you.

5. When are meetings held?
Monthly breakfasts/luncheons/after-hours are held on the first Tuesday of every month. Breakfasts begin at 8:30 AM and Luncheons begin at 12:00 noon, After-Hours begin at 5:30 PM. all chamber meetings are rotated around the restaurants within our community.  The Garden City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meet on the second Thursday of every month at 8:00 AM in the Chamber office.

6. What is the Chamber's relationship with the Government?
While the chamber is not connected officially with the government, we work closely with City government, the County and our State elected officials. Because of ongoing communications with city and county officials, we provide input on a range of issues of importance to both the City and the Chamber.

7. Does the Chamber endorse candidates?
No. Our policy is to study and take action on issues that affect our members and/or the community, but to leave the election of candidates to the citizens.

8. How do I get myself and my business involved?
Simply by contacting the Chamber office at 734-422-4448. Someone from the Membership Committee will contact you and explain how you and your business can become a member today.
